Juba, 19 November 2024 (MFA&IC) – The Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ramadan Mohammed Abdallah Goc, met with Amb. Sharon Bar-li, the Head of the Africa Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel. Amb. Bar-li is on an official visit to the Republic of South Sudan as the envoy of Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions focused on deepening the existing bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in regional and international forums. Hon. Goc welcomed Amb. Bar-li and expressed the Government of South Sudan’s appreciation for the longstanding friendship with Israel, which has been established since the beginning of the liberation struggle in the 1970s. He further expressed gratitude for Israel’s contributions to capacity building in medicine and agriculture, particularly regarding the Save a Child’s Heart Initiative.
Ambassador Bar-li reciprocated the sentiment, acknowledging the enduring cooperation between the two countries. She stated that her visit aims to explore potential areas for collaboration and is scheduled to tour the Trauma Unit at Juba Hospital and other program sites.
The Honorable Minister wished Amb. Bar-li a successful visit and assured her that her counterparts at the Ministry would stay in close contact and coordination. He also reaffirmed the Government of South Sudan’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Israel.
