30 January 2025 (MFA&IC) — The Honorable Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Amb. Monday Semaya K. Kumba, met with His Excellency Ambassador Ma Qiang, the Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan, to address the unfortunate plane crash incident that occurred in Bentiu, Unity State.

During their discussion, Deputy Minister Kumba extended sincere condolences on behalf of the South Sudanese government to the Chinese government and the families impacted by this tragedy. He reiterated the commitment of the government to undertake a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of the crash, emphasizing the intent to provide timely and thorough answers to the grieving families.

Ambassador Qiang reciprocated the expression of sympathy and underscored his immediate priority of collecting vital information regarding the incident. The dialogue highlighted the mutual commitment of both nations to uphold the values of compassion and cooperation in times of adversity.
