Juba, 18 March 2024 – (MFA&IC) The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Amb. Dr. James Pitia Morgan, welcomed a visit from Charlie McConalgue T.D, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Marine of Ireland, marking his first visit to South Sudan.
Minister Morgan expressed gratitude for Ireland’s interest in enhancing bilateral relations in South Sudan and briefed the Minister on the H.E. President’s commitment to achieving lasting peace.
Hon. Morgan said that despite some challenges hindering peace implementation, the government remains committed to resolving all outstanding issues through peaceful means.
Minister McConalgue commended South Sudan’s efforts and emphasized Ireland’s support for the peace agreement. Additionally, he discussed Ireland’s humanitarian assistance in the region, including South Sudan.
