Juba, 20th February 2024 (MFA&IC)- The Vice President of the Strategic and Advisory Committee, European Center for Electoral Support, Mr. Filiberto Ceriani Sebregondi, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Amb. Dr. James Pitia Morgan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to discuss the preparations for the upcoming elections in South Sudan.
Minister Morgan expressed gratitude for Italy’s continuous support and discussed the special relationship between the two countries.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the upcoming multiparty and democratic elections and welcomed any support from the European Centre for Electoral Support.
Mr. Sebregondi, in response, expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and confirmed their willingness to assist South Sudan in holding successful elections.
The meeting was also attended by Dhano Obongo, South Sudan Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary & Permanent Representative to the UN/Rome Based Agencies.
