Cairo, 22 February 2024 (MFA&IC) – Today, Hon. Ramadan Mohammed Abdallah Goc, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Egypt for a bilateral meeting with his counterpart, Hon. Hamdi Loz, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt.
The meeting also discussed the issue of the deportation of South Sudanese students due to visa delays. Hon. Hamdi Loz agreed to address this issue promptly, ensuring a resolution.
Additionally, Hon. Ramadan reminded his counterpart of the successful Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) from the previous year, which focused on diplomatic training for young diplomats.
Other areas of discussion included cooperation in the education, trade, and investment sectors. Both emphasized the importance of collaboration to bring peace to the Sudanese people, expressing the need to work together to find a peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict in the Republic of Sudan.
Hon. Hamdi Loz reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting South Sudan during the humanitarian crisis resulting from the Sudan conflict.
Furthermore, Egypt expressed its willingness to assist during the upcoming general elections in South Sudan.
