Juba – February 12, 2025 (MFA-IC) – The Honorable Ambassador Monday Semaya Kumba, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, emphasized the importance of the upcoming visit from United Nations Under-Secretary for Peace Operations, Mr. Jean-Pierre Lacroix, to South Sudan. He stated that this visit is crucial as the country moves toward genuine peace.
During a brief meeting with the Acting Head of Mission and Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Security Force in Abyei (UNISFA), Major General Robert Yaw Affram, Deputy Minister Kumba received an update on the security and humanitarian situation in the Abyei Administrative Area. He highlighted the collaborative efforts to address these challenges and urged UNISFA to actively support the government’s quest for peace through ongoing engagement.
