Deputy Minister Meets African Union Ambassador to South Sudan

Juba, 10 February 2025 (MFA&IC) – The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Amb. Monday Semaya K. Kumba, met with H.E. Amb. Prof. Joram M. Biswaro, the Head of Mission of the African Union to South Sudan, to discuss the upcoming 38th African Union Summit.

During their meeting, the two officials deliberated on several important topics, including the theme of the 38th AU ordinary session, the African Union High-Level Ad Hoc Committee for South Sudan (C5), the election of the Chairperson of the AU Commission, the current situation in Sudan, progress on the Revitalized Peace Agreement, and the Tumaini peace process.

Hon. Amb. Semaya expressed appreciation to the African Union for its ongoing support of South Sudan. He emphasized that the country is well-prepared for the summit and is committed to enhancing cooperation with the African Union.

In response, Amb. Prof. Biswaro thanked the Deputy Minister and provided updates on the upcoming summit and the election of the Chairperson of the AU Commission.
