Juba, February 5, 2025 (MFA&IC) – The Honorable Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Monday Semaya Kumba, engaged in a discussion with Ms. Anita Kiki Gbeho, the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and Resident Humanitarian Coordinator.
Hon. Kumba welcomed the UN official and provided an overview of the ongoing voluntary repatriation of Sudanese nationals to Port Sudan. He also discussed the status of the relationship between South Sudan and Sudan, highlighting the South Sudanese government’s repatriation plan for South Sudanese nationals living in Sudan.
Deputy Minister Kumba expressed profound appreciation for the UN’s efforts in addressing the needs of refugees and returnees across the country. He reaffirmed his commitment to continuing engagement with United Nations agencies to enhance collaborative efforts.
